Breastfeeding can be a beautiful bonding experience between mother and child, but is not always without its trials and tribulations. If you have chosen to breastfeed your child, we want to ensure we do whatever possible to support your decision and help you have the successful breastfeeding relationship you desire. Sherry Oldfield, one of our midwives, is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). Whether you are frustrated with the awkward newness of the breastfeeding relationship, or are struggling several weeks into it, we will do all that we can to help you breastfeed the way you want for as long as you want.

Initial Lactation Consultation
If you are in our service area, Sherry will be happy to come to your home for the initial consultation. The initial visit will involve assessment/education of latching issues, complete history, weighing of baby before and after feeding, and a detailed plan of care (if desired). Sometimes our clients require the use of a pump while they resolve some of their breastfeeding issues. If this is the case, we have several hospital-grade pumps for monthly rental at some of the most competitive prices in the area. We will also bring the pump to you and teach you how to set up and use the equipment. We never want our mothers to feel that they are not being supported in their breastfeeding goals and will stick with you until you achieve the relationship you desire.
